Acclaimed Music Video Director W.I.Z visits Brighton Film School
Brighton Film School welcomed acclaimed Music Video Director W.I.Z as our most recent high profile industry guest speaker for the Filmmaking HND 1st year students. W.I.Z visited to recount his experience in the industry and talk to the students about music video production - a timely visit as they embark on their latest project for the course to create a music video for a signed artist.
W.I.Z has directed a number of high-concept videos for high profile artists since 1991, including Massive Attack, Kasabian, Oasis and Marilyn Manson. In recent years his work includes music videos for Kings of Leon, Emeli Sande, Robbie Williams and Dizzee Rascal.
During his visit, W.I.Z spoke at length about the first Kasabian video, 'Club Foot' and showed the students a special behind-the-scenes film of the project.
Andrea Slater, Head of Learning (Filmmaking HNC) said:
It was amazing to have welcomed an artist of W.I.Z calibre to Brighton Film School; he is one of the most celebrated music video directors in the UK. The students were inspired and empowered about their own work going forward.
