Head of School – Gary Barber

Having taught in both Further and Higher education over the past 20 years, I have supported students on their journey through education in developing both their practical skills, and helping them achieve their creative vision. I have also continued to work as a freelance filmmaker, directing and producing short films (Digital Shorts), broadcast documentaries (ITV, C4, BBC) and gallery installations (Phoenix Gallery). Through attending one of our courses, let us help to guide you on your chosen career.

Testimonial from a former student of Gary's

As a student of Gary’s in 2008 I cannot say enough of how supportive and helpful he was in helping me complete the course successfully. I gained a Merit in the process, which gave me the bedrock to go onto Bimm (Brighton Institute of Modern Music) and complete the Live Sound and Tour management course and the Music Business course too, in which I got a double distinction. I am now an Apprentice in Entertainment with the BBC and have just worked on the Reading Festival and about to commence working on Strictly Come Dancing, Mercury Music Prize and Later with Jools Holland. I cannot thank Gary enough for all his help and guidance has continued to give me during the course and after as well.
