New Halls of Residence now taking bookings

Brighton Film School are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to new and existing students on our Diploma, Filmmaking HND and Art Direction HND courses.

Abacus Halls is an exciting, brand new development of shared-student accommodation and studio flats centrally located on bustling London Road, Brighton - just 5 minutes walk from Brighton Film School and the city centre. The new build is predominantly booked out by Sussex University which makes for an enriched experience for our students hoping to meet and live with people from a wide range of backgrounds. There are also a variety of local amenities within close proximity, including gyms, cashpoints, post offices, supermarkets, cinemas, convenience outlets and a wide range of bars and restaurants - plus Brighton's famous beaches and green space.

The residence offers a range of spacious en-suite studios flats. All  are finished to a very high standard with ¾ beds, deluxe en-suite shower rooms, and well-thought-out study space. Studios have contemporary fitted kitchens in-room. Your room also includes all utility bills, contents insurance and a 20Mb broadband connection at no extra charge.

The friendly on-site management team are always available to answer any queries or help you with any problems you may have, while our maintenance team are always at the ready to assist you with any repairs you might need done.

The safety and security of our residents is hugely important to The Student Housing Company, and the residence is only accessible using a secure electronic key. There is 24 hour CCTV, while our 24-hour staff presence means our team are always on-hand to help you.

There are just 48 studio flats available and will be offered on a first come, first served basis, with all bookings and management being handled by our accommodation partners at the Student Housing Company. The first move in date is provisionally set for the 5th September 2014 with the show-flat expected to be ready by the end of April 2014.

The features include:

  • Comfortable office chair
  • Large study desk with drawer storage
  • Ensuite bathroom with large shower cubicle
  • Small double beds with under-mattress storage
  • Data ports
  • Games room
  • Common area
  • High-speed internet access
  • Wi-fi throughout
  • On-site launderette
  • Semi-Voip intercom
  • 24 hour staff presence

Please note that the Abacus Halls are managed independently by the Student Housing Company and not Brighton Film School. It is your responsibility to manage your accommodation whilst a student at the film school and all contracts signed, agreed and adhered to are between you and the Student Housing Company. This represents one option for your accommodation whilst you study with us but we would also advise that you investigate the private rental market which is buoyant in the local area and decide which is the best option for you. Accommodation at the Abacus Hall is limited and on a first come, first served basis. If you are unsuccessful in your application, it is your responsibility to find other suitable accommodation elsewhere.
