Award winning Director of Photography, Steven Cameron Ferguson, visits Brighton Film School
The award-winning Director of Photography, Steven Cameron Ferguson, recently visited Brighton Film School to provide a series of workshops to students on the Filmmaking HNC/HND course. The workshops were delivered alongside the award-winning filmmaker Eva Riley.
Steven is a London and Glasgow based cinematographer focused on creative visual storytelling in an evocative and narrative driven fashion.
In 2015 he won the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award for Cinematography and also the overall ‘Best New Work’ award for the short film SICK. His narrative work has screened and won awards at top tier film festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, Telluride & AFI alongside receiving a BIFA and BAFTA Nomination for the film MANOMAN.
Steven works across Drama, Commercial and Fine Art and is experienced in majority of digital formats alongside 35mm and 16mm and his experience and time given provided a valuable learning experience for the students.
Brighton Film School is a specialist, independent training facility located in central Brighton. The school offers two 2-year HNC/HND (equivalent to the first two years of a degree) programmes in Filmmaking and Set Design for Film and TV, a third-year BA (Hons) Film Production Top-up Degree, as well as an industry recognised Cinematography and Directing Diploma and Set Design for Film and TV Diploma.
