Don't miss it: Cuffs set for BBC1 Wednesday 28th October 8pm

An exciting new drama starts on BBC1 tonight that was filmed in Brighton and Shoreham. Cuffs is an 8-part, fast paced, contemporary police drama produced by Tiger Aspect Productions and starring Ashley Walters. Students from the Filmmaking HND, Film Production BA (Hons) and Set Design for Film and TV HND course have been working on the production for the past few months - assisting in the camera and art department, whilst others provided on-set still photography and two 3rd year students produced a behind the scenes documentary for Tiger Aspect.

Jonna Nordenhead, 2nd year Set Design for Film and TV HND student, worked in the Art department for 4 days at the start of the shoot. She said:

I enjoyed my time on Cuffs and everyone that I met was very friendly and helpful. I feel like I have acquired a deeper understanding of the working process in the art departement and the different job roles and their responsibilities.

Zoe Hayter, Filmmaking HND student, worked in the camera department, assisting on the shoot and creating a behind-the-scenes documentary which can be used to promote the series. She said:

It was a great experience,  everyone from Tiger Aspect was very accommodating and we got great footage as well as learning a lot.

Written by Julie Gearey (Prisoners’ Wives, Secret Diary Of A Call Girl), Cuffsis packed full of humour and humanity. A character-led drama as well as a police procedural, this is a show where the cops are forced to deal with everything the job throws at them and where work-based pressures are never left at the station door.
