Brighton Film School Filmmaking students attended the BSC Expo 2018 to test all of the latest equipment and meet industry contacts

From Brighton to Battersea on a coach filled with over 50 students. The BSC Expo is the UK’s premier dedicated film and TV production exhibition and is now a recognised fixture in the industry calendar.

Filmmaking students from all three years attended the popular event and had the opportunity to see the latest technologies that they could be using one day when they graduate and enter the film and television industry. The Expo also hosts industry-relevant presentations and panel discussions.

Final year student, Hugo Healy said: “I went to the show to network with industry professionals and also to see the new equipment and technology coming into the film industry, as my future employers will expect us as the next generation of filmmakers to know what new equipment is available and how to use it. I enjoyed seeing all the new drone technology and helicopters the most. But I was really blown away with the cameras and lenses.”

Brighton Film School’s Creative Director, Gary Barber, encourages filmmaking students to attend the exhibition every year, he said: “The annual BSC Show is a great way for students to meet the industry and to get hands on experience with the latest cameras, lights and grip equipment.
Brighton Film School sponsors Panavision and Movietech were on hand to offer careers advice to our students. Alongside the latest equipment, were seminars on VR, Grading and shooting in 8K which helped our students understand how new ways of working are changing the industry.”
